Kati Durkee became an accidental advocate for post-infectious encephalitis in children when both her children began to exhibit neurological and behavioral challenges following frequent childhood illnesses (including strep and pneumonia) and treatment in South Carolina was incredibly hard to find. Kati has spent the past 2 years championing change for the 1/200 children we know to be affected by PANS/PANDAS.
